An inspiring story of a successful women entrepreneur | Entrepreneurial journey | Motivational story
Entrepreneurship has become a buzzword nowadays. Entrepreneurship has been regarded as one of the powerful determinants of industrial growth both in the developed and in the developing countries. Despite its importance for the economy, the emergence of women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh is a new phenomenon over the world.
Women entrepreneurs have become important players in the entrepreneurial arena. Many countries have made substantial progress as well as development by involving women in economic activities specifically in entrepreneurship. In Bangladesh, the magnitude of women’s involvement in economic activities is still very low.
Many countries have been able to bring substantial progress and achievement by involving women in economic activities. Women make about more than 50% of the total population indicating the opportunity of socio-economic development. To attain a poverty-free goal and millennium development goal is impossible without incorporating women in income-generating activities. But in Bangladesh, extending women's participation in business development is a great national challenge because of gender inequality.
Here are some stories of 6 Bangladeshi Woman Entrepreneurs who are inspiring us to change. I am sharing one by one below ;
Firstly Bibi Russell is the founder of ‘Bibi Productions’-a world-renowned fashion house working in Bangladesh. Bibi was born in Chittagong, Bangladesh. She grew up in Dhaka Then she went to London and earned a graduate degree in fashion from the London College of Fashion. In the next few years, Bibi worked as a fashion model with different prestigious organizations and crafted people.

Taslima MijiTaslima Miji is the CEO of Techmania- a company, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, that provides hardware and hardware related services, i.e. computer, computer assembly, networking and computer-related peripheral items and troubleshooting of various items, etc. We have a great deal of respect for Taslima—not only for the work she’s done over the years but for who she is as a human being. It was a true pleasure and inspiration to talk with her about her passion, life, rebellious nature, childhood memories, starting up, her unexpected step into the world of entrepreneurship, her struggle as a woman and as an entrepreneur, her lessons from her journey and how her career has grown over the years.
